It is an original Genie replacement part and is compatible with all Genie 1/3 horse power garage door openers EXCEPT the following models: GPS-700 Stealth, PMX-700 Openers and Excelerator. To determine if the existing capacitor is bad look for oil leakage near the terminals and a burnt smell will be present.
